The afternoon then took on a colourful and festive turn with the talented musicians of DIS Riverside combining all the surs and taals to create a melodious musical symphony called ‘CRESCENDO’. It was an amalgamation of both western and Indian classical music, created by the fusion of tabla and drums, guitar and sitar, harmonium and key board and of course the violin and bass guitar. The mellifluous notes rendered almost a divine quality to the entire campus.
While the audience was still enraptured by the musical presentation, the juniors came up on stage to enthral everyone with their play based on the Arabian Tales, ‘Alibaba and The Forty Thieves’. The play touched everyone’s heart, with the underlying message of never letting greed take on your life. The entire campus swung to the foot tapping beats of Arabian Music and appreciated the perfect dialogue delivery by the junior school children.
The ebullient dramatists and dancers of the senior-wing presented ‘Buddha Katha’ - depicting the life and teachings of Gautam Buddha. The life of the enlightened one was portrayed through the dance-drama. The odyssey of Siddhartha to the Buddha was vividly played by the students. The audience was enthralled by the presentation of the students.
Last but not the least, the students danced to the tunes of one of the most popular singers and composers among the youth who met with a tragic end recently, - Sidhu Moosewala. The Bhangra Dance was performed on the mash-up of Sidhu Moosewala’s songs. The energy levels soared high on stage and everyone loved the vigour and passion exhibited by the students.
